Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) has officially commenced production of the Afeela 1 electric sedan in Ohio. What started as a showcase of sensors and infotainment at CES 2020 is now a tangible product ready for the competitive EV market.

The production of the Afeela 1 is currently underway, marking a significant milestone for the joint venture. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2026 in California, followed by an expansion into Arizona and Japan in 2027. This phased rollout suggests a strategic approach to establishing a service network and testing market demand in tech-forward regions.
Unveiling the New Afeela Crossover
Adding to the momentum, Sony Honda Mobility revealed a new crossover version of the Afeela lineup on the eve of this year's CES. CEO Yasuhide Mizuno emphasized that their goal of fusing diverse technologies to deliver a novel mobility experience isn't limited to a single vehicle type.
