Chris Caplice, chief scientist at DAT Freight & Analytics, noted that while transportation costs might rise, it's unlikely to hit consumer prices at checkout. He described the storm as a "blip" compared to larger industry uncertainties like tariffs.

The industry's silver lining is its evolution since the pandemic. Logistics firms have largely abandoned the fragile just-in-time model in favor of more robust inventory stocking. Experts suggest that companies are now better equipped to survive unexpected shocks than they were just a few years ago.
