According to Yonhap, Lyu Jae-cheol, CEO of LG Electronics, shared this roadmap during a press conference at CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 7, 2026. He described the CLOiD home robot as the 'final piece of the puzzle' in freeing consumers from daily tasks.

The new CLOiD model isn't just designed to move objects or fold laundry. It's built to analyze ingredients, schedules, and lifestyle patterns to act autonomously. Lyu noted that the goal is for the robot to reduce the mental burden of deciding which tasks need to be done, allowing users to focus on more valuable activities.

Competitive Strategy in a Changing Market

Addressing the intense competition from Chinese rivals in the TV sector, Lyu remarked that while their progress is notable, they haven't significantly exceeded expectations. LG aims to maintain leadership in both OLED and LCD segments by focusing on speed and execution. The company will also leverage LG Group's internal capabilities in batteries and sensors to accelerate its robotics division.
