According to The Verge, these new displays feature a built-in light sensor that continuously monitors the environment's brightness and color temperature. This allows the screen to adapt fluidly as daylight fades or as indoor lights are switched on, ensuring the image remains consistent and comfortable.
A Screen for Every Hour
In a briefing, Michael McSorley, product marketing manager at Nvidia, explained the logic. During bright daylight, the monitor increases its peak brightness and shifts to a cooler color temperature. Conversely, at night or in darker rooms, it reduces intensity and adopts a warmer tone to reduce eye strain.
