1.7x faster content creation is coming to your desktop. AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su kicked off her CES 2026 keynote on Monday with a bold message: AI is for everyone. The semiconductor giant officially revealed the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor, the latest evolution of its AI-powered PC chips, signaling that AI-integrated personal computing is no longer just a trend—it's the standard.

AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series Performance Specs

The new Ryzen AI 400 Series represents a significant leap from the 300 Series announced in 2024. According to the company, these chips deliver 1.3x faster multitasking and a staggering 1.7x boost in content creation tasks compared to competitors. Under the hood, the processors feature 12 CPU Cores and 24 threads, allowing for more fluid instruction streams and efficient processing.

Rahul Tikoo, senior vice president at AMD, noted that the company has expanded to over 250 AI PC platforms. That's a 2x growth over the last year. Tikoo emphasized that AI will become a "multi-layered fabric" woven into every level of personal computing, enabling deep reasoning and personal customization for every user.

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D Gaming Processor Details

Gamers haven't been left behind. AMD also announced the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, the newest iteration of its gaming-focused processor line. Alongside the hardware, the company debuted the latest version of its Redstone ray tracing technology. This update aims to simulate the physical behavior of light more accurately, providing superior graphics without the performance lag that often plagues high-end gaming.

Both the Ryzen AI 400 Series and the Ryzen 7 9850X3D are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026.
