Supply Bottlenecks vs. Global Ambitions
According to reports from TechCrunch, Meta had originally planned to launch the smart glasses in France, Italy, Canada, and the U.K. in early 2026. However, the company is re-evaluating that timeline. "Since launching last fall, we’ve seen an overwhelming amount of interest," the company stated on Tuesday. Meta will focus on fulfilling current U.S. orders before attempting to enter these 4 international markets.
CES 2026: The Neural Band Takes Center Stage
Despite the supply hiccup, Meta's innovation engine isn't slowing down. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the company showcased new software features powered by the Meta Neural Band. A standout feature is the new 'finger-to-text' messaging, which allows users to jot down messages by gesturing on any surface. They've also introduced a portable teleprompter feature for the display, helping users deliver speeches on the go. Navigation support is also expanding to four new cities: Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City.
