Chris Redd Clarifies Kenan Thompson Assault Rumors

According to TMZ, Redd spoke out on Wednesday to clear his former costar's name. "Kenan did not hit me," he stated bluntly. When asked if Thompson might have orchestrated the attack, Redd revealed he already knows the identity of the assailant, effectively closing the door on the drama. The incident occurred on October 26, 2022, when Redd was punched outside the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village.

The rumors gained traction because Redd is currently dating Thompson's ex-wife, Christina Evangeline. Thompson filed for divorce in June 2022 after more than a decade of marriage. Redd admitted that the relationship developed while Evangeline was helping him through a difficult period involving pill issues and therapy, making the situation an "emotional double-edged sword."

A Complicated SNL Legacy

The two comedians shared a deep professional history. Redd was part of the Saturday Night Live cast from 2017 to 2022, during which they even played brothers on the sitcom Kenan.
