The Flower Kingdom's getting a massive upgrade. Nintendo's officially confirmed that Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the 2023 hit, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 this year. It's not just a simple port; it's a full-blown expansion that'll give early adopters plenty of reasons to dive back into the Wonder effect.

Mark your calendars for March 26, 2026. That's when the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition hits shelves both physically and digitally. The star of the show is the 'Meetup in Bellabel Park' expansion, a brand-new area in the Flower Kingdom featuring two large plazas packed with interactive attractions and mini-games like 'Fast Cash' and 'Bubble Blaster.'

Rosalina Joins the Cast and New Amiibo Lineup

The roster's expanding too. Rosalina and her buddy Co-Star Luma are joining the playable cast—a timely addition given her upcoming debut in 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.' Players can also look forward to new boss courses and a refined assist mode for a smoother experience.

Collectors, take note: three new amiibo are launching alongside the game. The lineup includes Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and a special Talking Flower. The Talking Flower amiibo, priced at $34.99, releases early on March 12 and features real-world interactions like announcing the time and temperature.

Upgrade Path and Pre-order Pricing

If you already own the original Switch game, you don't have to pay full price. Nintendo's offering an Upgrade Pack for $19.99. While pre-orders for the full standard edition aren't live yet, the upgrade pack is already available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop. It'll activate the moment the game launches in March.
