據悉，該受影響的農場共飼養了2萬3000隻鴨。對此，韓國當局已迅速採取行動，對該農場實施特別檢疫措施，並加強對周邊設施及車輛的監控，力求防堵疫情擴散。當局表示，為求防患未然，計畫自週一開始，對該地區超過200家鴨場進行密集檢查。
此次疫情的發生，正值冬季候鳥遷徙高峰期，使得家禽產業面臨的風險顯著升高。政府正敦促全國養殖業者嚴格遵守防疫規範，全力遏止病毒進一步蔓延。
