It’s a double dose of Broadway for the Consuelos clan. On January 21, 2026, Kelly Ripa dropped a bombshell announcement on 'Live With Kelly and Mark' that’s even stronger than a morning cup of coffee: her husband and cohost Mark Consuelos is officially heading to the Great White Way.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 54-year-old actor will star in a new production of Noël Coward’s 1925 play 'Fallen Angels.' Consuelos is set to play Maurice Duclos, the mysterious lover at the center of a comedic storm between two upper-class women, played by Rose Byrne and Kelli O'Hara. Previews begin March 27, with the official opening set for April 19 at New York City’s Roundabout Theatre.

Consuelos admitted his "anxiety kicked in" before the live reveal. After years of travel and TV commitments, he noted that living permanently in New York City finally allowed him to pursue his love for the stage. "I'm pretty much anchored here now. I'm trapped! So, I thought it would be a good idea!" he joked to the cheering audience.

A Generational Takeover of the Stage

The announcement got even more personal when Ripa revealed that their youngest son, Joaquin Consuelos, a recent University of Michigan School of Drama graduate, is also making his Broadway debut in 'Death of a Salesman' at roughly the same time. Ripa joked about the looming schedule conflict, wondering every night whether to support her husband or her "beloved son."
