Palmer stars as Samira Fisher, a civil litigator on maternity leave who moves to the idyllic Hinkley Hills with her husband Rob, played by British actor Jack Whitehall. The actress describes the show's vibe as "giving Get Out," noting the tension of being a Black woman in a predominantly white suburb. As Samira struggles with postpartum adjustments, she begins to suspect that the neighborhood is far more dangerous than it appears. The cast also features comedy heavyweights Paula Pell and Julia Duffy.

Behind the Scenes with Imagine and Fuzzy Door

The project is a powerhouse collaboration between Imagine Entertainment and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door Productions. The idea for the remake was born during the pandemic when neighborly paranoia was at an all-time high. Brian Grazer of Imagine mentioned that Palmer was the only choice for the lead, following a recommendation from Snoop Dogg. The show was officially picked up in 2024 and is slated for a major release this year.
