Speaking to Variety on December 26, he reflected on his younger self—the "artist, sissy boy in West Texas" who preferred dress-up over football. "I love that little guy. I used to not like him, but I love him now," he admitted.

While announcing nominations for the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, Storrie intentionally introduced himself using the same playful style from his old YouTube clips.
