The wait is officially over! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled the full list of nominees for the 2026 Academy Awards, and Hollywood's biggest night is shaping up to be a rollercoaster of emotions.

Comedian Conan O'Brien is set to return as host on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre. While many fan favorites secured their expected nods, the announcement sparked instant debate online due to several high-profile snubs.

The competition for Supporting roles is particularly fierce this year. For Best Actress in a Supporting Role, nominees include Elle Fanning and Teyana Taylor. Meanwhile, the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category features heavyweights like Benicio Del Toro and rising star Jacob Elordi.

However, the biggest shock of the day was the exclusion of Paul Mescal. Despite being a frontrunner for his performance in 'Hamnet', he failed to secure a nomination, leaving fans and critics in disbelief.

A New Era: Best Casting and Verified Voting

This year marks the debut of the Best Casting category, recognizing the vital work of casting directors. Films like 'Marty Supreme' and 'Sinners' are among the inaugural nominees.

The Academy also implemented a strict new rule: members must prove they've actually watched the films before voting. Approximately 10,000+ industry professionals participated in the process, choosing from 317 eligible films. Out of those, 201 films were eligible for the prestigious Best Picture category.
