Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Reveal Their 7-Year Secret Christmas Decoration Project in NYC

One of New York City's most charming public Christmas displays has a secret celebrity origin. Live With Kelly & Mark co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have exclusively revealed to Entertainment Weekly that they've been anonymously decorating a construction site near their home for years, turning it into an unlikely holiday photo spot.

From Construction Site to Christmas Card

The couple's secret project began with a seven-year construction project next to their residence. According to the EW report, Consuelos described the site's green-paneled wall as being "like a Tiffany box," which Ripa decided to adorn with a big red ribbon each winter. "I asked them, they were like, sure!" Ripa told the publication. "People put their kids in front of it and take photos!"

The most amusing part is that no one knew the famous couple was behind the decorations. They've even received Christmas cards from acquaintances featuring photos taken in front of their handiwork. "They don’t know it’s us!" Ripa noted. "Now they'll know it's us! It's sweet."

The Joy of Secret Giving

Ripa and Consuelos's gesture echoes a similar story from fellow ABC personality Whoopi Goldberg. Just a few weeks ago, Goldberg revealed on The View's podcast that she secretly answers children's letters to Santa through the post office. "I just feel like everybody needs a little help, and if you can help somebody... it's a thing we can do, and it doesn't cost a lot," the 70-year-old said.
