Meet the 'Hipster Grandpa' Couple Proving Style Has No Expiration Date

Who says style fades with age? Berlin fashionistas Britt Kanja and Günther Krabbenhöft are living proof that it only gets better. Despite their silver years, the couple leads an incredibly active life, not just attending cultural events but tearing up dance floors across the city. Everywhere they go, they stand out with their impeccable, timeless outfits.

From Chef to 'Hipster Grandpa'

Günther actually went viral a couple of years ago, earning the nickname 'Hipster Grandpa.' Contrary to what you might think, he was never a stylist or a fashion designer. He spent his career as a chef. "I did what my parents told me to do," he told Süddeutsche Zeitung. For him, it was "a completely normal job."

But his passion for fashion was always there. He recalls wearing miniskirts for men when they first came out, complete with Roman sandals. After moving to Kreuzberg, Berlinover 30 years ago, he adopted the area's typical all-black look, but always with a personal twist. For Günther, fashion is all about creating harmony between his inside and outside.

Dancing, Style, and Ageless Energy

Günther credits much of his evident health to an activity he discovered later in life: dancing. "Since then, I've been able to skip my other fitness program, I just need a little strength training on the side," he explained. He and Britt are regulars at clubs and parties, their energy inspiring people of all generations on the dance floor.
