Social news website Bored Panda compiled a list of 39 of the worst hotel and Airbnb guests ever, offering a glimpse into the daily chaos hospitality workers endure.

The Four Horsemen of Bad Hospitality

Writing for Hotel Management, Glenn Haussman identified four types of guests that people in the industry love to hate. First up is the 'Never Happy Complainer.' This person seems to have something seriously wrong with their life, and for some reason, it’s the hotel's fault. A simple complaint like "the water in the shower wasn’t hot enough" escalates into a tirade where every apology is met with more anger. Their goal isn't resolution; it's to make you feel as awful as they do.

Then there are the 'Party People.' They don't want to spend money at the hotel bar. Instead, they mount a mission more complex than Normandy to sneak in massive coolers packed with booze. After their private rager, they leave the room festooned with the remnants of their cocktailing gone bad.

Overcrowding and The Lobby Dweller

The third type is the '20 People, 1 Room, No Problem' crew. They know the room has a single king-sized bed, but that doesn't stop them from booking it for one or two people and then stealthily sneaking in many more. They inevitably ask for a dozen extra pillows and blankets, expecting you not to notice the small army crammed inside.

Finally, there's the 'I’ll Just Sit Here Person.' Nobody knows if they're a guest or not. They simply sit in the lobby for hours on end, not working or doing anything, just waiting. By the time a full shift change happens, they often haven't moved a muscle.

These categories barely scratch the surface, with other documented offenses including guests who smoke in the hallway of a non-smoking hotel or attempt to load up their car with the room's mini-fridge.
