Hyun Bin Is Open to a Third Project With Son Ye Jin, But With a Major Twist
Hyun Bin revealed he's open to acting with his wife Son Ye Jin again, but not in a romance like Crash Landing On You. He suggested genres like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, hinting at a bold new direction for the beloved couple.
Hyun Bin has confirmed he's open to reuniting on-screen with his wife, Son Ye Jin, for a third time, but fans hoping for another sweeping romance like Crash Landing On You might be in for a surprise. The actor revealed he has entirely different, and far more complex, genres in mind for a potential collaboration.
The revelation came during the December 21, 2025, episode of Jung Jae Hyung's YouTube show, "Fairy Table," where Hyun Bin appeared to promote his new Disney+ original series, Made In Korea.
After showcasing their unparalleled chemistry in the film The Negotiation (2018) and the global hit drama Crash Landing On You (2020), anticipation for a third project has been immense since the couple's real-life marriage. When asked about the possibility, Hyun Bin expressed a positive outlook, albeit with specific limitations.
"I'm open to it, but I don't think it could be something like Crash Landing On You again. If there’s a different genre of work, I’d be willing."
Instead of reprising a fairytale romance, Hyun Bin suggested concepts that could leverage their real-life dynamic in a new way. "A story where a married couple suddenly grows apart could be interesting, or something like Mr. & Mrs. Smith could be fun too," he explained. "If there’s another interesting concept, I think it would be great to co-star again."
PRISM Insight: Hyun Bin's comments signal a strategic move beyond the "BinJin" couple brand that defined their public image. By suggesting genres that explore marital friction or action-comedy, the couple appears keen on leveraging their real-life chemistry to deconstruct their romantic fairytale persona, setting a new precedent for how real-life celebrity couples navigate their artistic careers.
