The Comeback Season 3: Lisa Kudrow's Valerie Cherish to Face 'Hot Ones' After 11-Year Hiatus

Can Valerie Cherish handle the heat? After an 11-year wait, Lisa Kudrow's iconic character is stepping into the internet's spiciest interview chair. HBO's cult comedy The Comeback is officially returning for a third season in March 2026, and according to Entertainment Weekly, Valerie will be appearing on the massively popular YouTube show Hot Ones.

A New Media Landscape

Series co-creator Michael Patrick King revealed to EW that the new season will explore Valerie's adaptation to being a television star in the 2020s. "What's happening right now is you're not promoting anything if you're not on Hot Ones, you're just not," King stated. "So Valerie getting on Hot Ones is kind of a thing." The season will also tackle another modern phenomenon: Valerie's new sitcom, 'How's That?!,' will be written by AI.

King also pointed to the broader trend of streaming platforms reverting to older television models. "Even the streamers are starting to go backwards and offer cheaper versions with commercials," he explained. "People seem to be wanting old-fashioned television, but in a new way. So we're going to play with all of that."

Returning Cast and New Additions

Fans can expect to see several familiar faces returning for season 3. Laura Silverman is back as reality show producer Jane, along with Damian Young as Valerie's husband Mark, and Dan Bucatinsky as her publicist Billy. The new season also boasts an impressive list of newcomers, including Andrew Scott as a studio head, as well as Abbi Jacobson and John Early.
