Kyle Chrisley Arrested for Domestic Assault, Continuing Family's String of Legal Troubles

Kyle Chrisley, the 34-year-old son of 'Chrisley Knows Best' star Todd Chrisley, has been arrested again in Tennessee, this time on multiple charges including domestic assault. According to TMZ, the arrest was made by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, December 20, around 7 p.m.

Later that night, he was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on charges of domestic assault, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. He is also facing three additional charges for allegedly assaulting a first responder and resisting arrest.

This isn't Kyle's first encounter with law enforcement. In March 2023, he was booked for felony aggravated assault after a physical altercation with a supervisor at a truck rental company. He was released on a $3,000 bond, and prosecutors ultimately dismissed the charges.

Following another arrest for aggravated assault in 2024, Kyle and his wife Ashleigh sued Rutherford County for $1.7 million in August 2025. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, his attorneys claimed he was unfairly arrested and "punished for calling for help."

The lawsuit alleged that on September 9, 2024, a mechanic involved in a payment dispute "threatened violence, and used his car as a weapon by ramming their SUV and nearly running Kyle over." The family claims deputies arrested Kyle, the victim, instead of the aggressor.

This incident follows the high-profile legal battle of his parents. Earlier this year, Todd and Julie Chrisley were pardoned by President Donald Trump after serving 28 months of their prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion. The couple has always maintained their innocence.
