Allegations of Grooming and Secret Deals

The victim’s father, Colin Swift, reported that Busfield kissed his daughter and inappropriately touched her at the B Street Theatre. The motion alleges that Busfield begged the family not to report the incident to law enforcement, promising to seek therapy instead. Swift, who is a therapist himself, reportedly agreed to the arrangement at the time. Prosecutors are now using this "grooming behavior" to argue that Busfield should remain in custody until his trial, citing a pattern of predatory conduct.
