The current mayor, Kirk Watson, will hold the office until the next election in 2028.

"I’m super excited to be a candidate for mayor of Austin," Abraham said before Levin corrected her. Confused by the 2028 timeline, she claimed the election office told her it was in 2026 and cited Spencer Pratt's run for LA Mayor as inspiration—not realizing different cities operate on different cycles.

After the on-air gaffe, Abraham's representatives clarified her position. She's now officially running for Austin City Council District 5. In a statement shared on Instagram, she claimed Austin has "lost balance" and gone "soft on crime," positioning herself as a "survivor mom" who knows how to hustle for working families.
