Under the oversight of the Board of Peace, led by Trump and managed by former UN diplomat Nickolay Mladenov, a committee of Palestinian experts will manage daily operations in the strip.

According to Al Jazeera, while the plan looks workable on paper, local skepticism is deep. Freelance journalist Arwa Ashour noted that many political decisions feel distant from the reality of blockades and loss. Palestinians fear that being excluded from the decision-making process turns reconstruction into a tool of external control rather than genuine recovery.

The Challenge of Demilitarization and Justice

A primary hurdle remains the demilitarization of Hamas. Analysts suggest Israel may tie progress in the health and education sectors to security guarantees. With at least 71,400 Palestinians killed since the war's onset in October 2023, human rights advocates emphasize that peace without accountability is merely a pause between conflicts.
