According to Boing Boing, Jacob Talamantes was apprehended at a shopping center on Bluegrass Parkway in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. His vehicle was loaded with what appeared to be a generous heap of Christmas gifts. However, the facade crumbled when a police K9 alerted officers to the vehicle's contents.

Upon inspection, the hand(s) of the law unwrapped the boxes to find approximately 55 pounds of methamphetamine inside. The sheer volume of the haul makes it one of the more significant local busts during the holiday season.

Law enforcement officials noted that smugglers often use high-traffic areas like shopping centers and park(s) to blend in during the festive rush. In this case, the suspect's attempt to use seasonal cheer as a cover backfired spectacularly.
