She explained that because she debuted at the incredibly young age of a high school freshman, her agency felt she needed a more mature image. Listing her as a year older helped her land adult roles that might have been out of reach if she were perceived as a mere middle schooler.

Back in 2012, fans noticed her telling 'Five Fingers' co-star Ji Chang Wook that she was 7 years younger than him, which contradicted her profile at the time.
