A laptop screen that follows your every move is no longer just a prototype. Lenovo officially announced at CES 2026 that its voice-controlled, motorized ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist is hitting the market this summer. After debuting as a concept in 2024, the PC giant has refined the hardware for a full commercial launch.

The standout feature is a motorized hinge that responds to voice commands. By saying "Hey Tiko," users can command the lid to open, close, or switch between clamshell and tablet modes hands-free. The 14-inch display can swivel 90 degrees right and a full 180 degrees left. According to Mashable, the market-ready version features a faster, quieter, and more durable electromotor design compared to the initial prototype.

Beyond basic movement, the device's 10MP webcam uses AI to track the user's face, automatically re-orienting the screen to ensure it's always front-facing. This is paired with an AI-powered Desk View feature that can scan documents and measure objects near the laptop. The new "Companion Mode" even adds a touch of personality, moving the screen to "emote" while chatting with the system.

Premium OLED Display and Hardware Performance

Under the hood, the Auto Twist is powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor, supported by up to 32GB of memory and a 2TB SSD. The visual experience is anchored by a 2.8K OLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. Lenovo also ensured that the Dolby Atmos speakers rotate with the screen to maintain front-facing audio quality.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist is scheduled for release in June 2026, with a starting price of $1,649. While some early hands-on reports noted a minor software bug where the screen orientation would get stuck in tablet mode, Lenovo is expected to iron out these kinks before the summer launch.
