Self-driving truck developer Kodiak AI is joining forces with global automotive titan Bosch to create a system that brings autonomous capabilities to standard semi-trucks. Announced on Monday at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, this collaboration is set to fast-track the deployment of driverless technology across the logistics industry.

Scaling the Kodiak AI Bosch Autonomous Trucks Ecosystem

According to reports from TechCrunch, the partnership focuses on developing redundant hardware and software platforms. These systems are designed to be brand-agnostic, meaning they can turn almost any manufacturer's truck into a self-driving vehicle. Bosch will supply critical components like sensors and steering technologies. Notably, these can be integrated directly on the factory line or retrofitted by third-party upfitters later.

Proven Track Record Meets Industrial Scale

Kodiak AI isn't just dealing in theories. Since January 2025, its trucks have been performing driverless deliveries for Atlas Energy Solutions. With an initial order of 100 trucks, and at least 8 units already delivered, the company is proving it can handle real-world operations. By partnering with Bosch, Kodiak aims to move from niche deployments to the massive truck market. While a specific production timeline hasn't been shared, Bosch's Mobility Americas president, Paul Thomas, noted the cooperation allows them to deepen their understanding of real-world autonomous requirements.
