Kia's smallest EV yet is officially here. Kia pulled the curtains off the EV2 at the Brussels Auto Show, positioning it as a compact and affordable solution for the European market. It's a bold move at a time when budget-friendly EVs are becoming the new industry battlefield.

Kia EV2 Range and Performance Specs

According to The Verge, the EV2 will be offered in multiple trims. The Standard-range version features a 42.2kWh battery pack, delivering a WLTP-rated range of 317 km (197 miles). While it's designed for efficiency, executives at the show touted it as the company's "most compact" and accessible EV to date.

The Battle for Affordable EVs in Europe

The European market is currently flooded with affordable EV options, which might complicate Kia's strategy for the EV2. Notably, U.S. customers won't be getting their hands on this model anytime soon—at least not right away. Kia is focusing its efforts on Europe, where small, capable hatchbacks and crossovers remain the dominant preference for urban drivers.
