Joe Rogan slams Donald Trump over 'unjustifiable' Rob Reiner death comments

There's a line even the internet's biggest podcaster won't cross. Joe Rogan is denouncing President Donald Trump’s "not funny" remarks regarding the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner. During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan expressed deep disappointment, stating that the president's lack of empathy in the face of a family tragedy was "hard to like."

The controversy began after Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele were found dead in their home on December 14, 2025. Their son, Nick Reiner, has since been charged with murder. Despite the horrific nature of the crime, Trump posted on Truth Social suggesting that Reiner died due to "Trump Derangement Syndrome," mocking the filmmaker's lifelong opposition to his administration.

On 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' Rogan and guest Shane Gillis discussed the absurdity of the situation. Rogan pointed out the double standard, asking listeners to imagine the fallout if Barack Obama had ever tweeted "Rest in piss" about a political opponent’s death. "It just shows you how crazy it is, the way Trump thinks and talks," Rogan remarked, adding that someone should've taken Trump's phone away.

Trump, however, hasn't backed down. In a recent White House press conference, he doubled down on his stance, calling Reiner a "deranged person" and dismissing the criticism. While many celebrities like Josh Gad and Jack White have also condemned the remarks, Rogan’s critique carries significant weight given his massive influence over a demographic that often aligns with Trump’s anti-establishment rhetoric.
