During an Actress Roundtable, Lawrence revealed that director Lynne Ramsay sent her and the Batman star to interpretive dance lessons to prepare for the role. Surprisingly, Lawrence found the Day One naked scene to be a relief. "It was kind of nice that it was Day One, because then it wasn't hanging over our heads," she explained, noting that it removed the anxiety of the upcoming intimacy.

Fellow actress Amanda Seyfried called the strategy "actually brilliant," suggesting that once you've seen everything, there's no more mystery or awkward wondering left on set. Lawrence agreed, clarifying that the environment remained professional and that Robert Pattinson was "not pervy" during the intense sequences.
