According to government decrees issued over the weekend and viewed by Entertainment Weekly, the Jay Kelly star, his wife Amal Clooney, and their 8-year-old twins have been granted French citizenship. Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to mock the actor, labeling him one of the "worst political prognosticators of all time."

Trump's criticism stems largely from Clooney's 2024 op-ed in the New York Times, where the actor famously called for Joe Biden to step down. Trump claimed that Clooney "got more publicity for politics than he did for his very few, and totally mediocre movies," concluding that he wasn't a movie star at all, but just an "average guy" complaining about common sense.

Trading Hollywood Paparazzi for a Farm in France

Despite the political noise, the Clooneys' move appears driven by a desire for privacy. Clooney told Esquire in October that raising kids in the Hollywood culture was a major concern. He noted that in France, people "don't give a s--- about fame," allowing his children to have a more grounded upbringing.
