According to local media reports on the 16th, Japanese police arrested Takuma Yamanaka, 39, on charges of sexual assault using his professional authority. The incident allegedly occurred in August 2023 at the agency’s office in Kasukabe City, Saitama Prefecture. The victim, an actress in her 20s, stated that Yamanaka lured her outside under the guise of a walk before committing the crime in a secluded setting.

The Collapse of a Fabricated Background

What makes this case even more disturbing is the elaborate web of lies Yamanaka spun to gain trust. He claimed to be a former Johnny & Associates (now SMILE-UP.) member from age 12 to 20, often boasting about his experience as a backup dancer and manager for top-tier idols. However, SMILE-UP. has officially denied he was ever affiliated with the company. It's believed he used this fake pedigree to secure contract agreements with aspiring talents.

While Yamanaka admits to sexual contact, he denies the charges of coercion, claiming the encounter was consensual. The police are currently widening the scope of their investigation to check for additional victims and further instances of career forgery.
