Dax Shepard Promises to Pay for 11-Year-Old Daughter’s Egg Freezing at Age 18

Most 11-year-olds are focused on their hobbies, but Dax Shepard’s daughter, Delta, is already planning her future as a mother. In response, the podcast host has offered a high-tech safety net: he’ll foot the bill to freeze her eggs as soon as she becomes a legal adult.

During the January 5, 2026 episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, Shepard shared a candid conversation he had with his youngest daughter. After Delta expressed an eagerness to have a baby, Shepard suggested she wait, acknowledging the conflict between career ambitions and the biological clock that many women face.

"I said, 'If you want to, we'll freeze your eggs when you're 18. I'll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don't have to think about that,'" Shepard explained. While Delta currently envisions herself starting a family in her mid-20s, Shepard and co-host Monica Padman noted that she might be underestimating how much fun she’ll be having during those years.

Acknowledging Privilege in Modern Parenting

Shepard was quick to acknowledge that this isn't a standard option for every family. "Acknowledging all luck and privilege, obviously, this isn't an option for most people," he stated. However, he believes that given their family's trajectory, it's the most sensible way to support his daughters, Delta and Lincoln, as they navigate the pressures of adulthood.
