Your personal data might be the next item in a hacker's collection. Earlier this month, a hacker going by the handle 'Lovely' claimed to have breached a Condé Nast database, releasing a massive list of over 2.3 million user records from WIRED magazine.

Condé Nast Data Breach 2025: 40 Million Records at Risk

The situation's escalating quickly. The hacker hasn't stopped at WIRED. They've threatened to leak an additional 40 million records from other major properties under the Condé Nast umbrella, including Vogue, The New Yorker, and Vanity Fair. While passwords weren't included in the current leak, sensitive demographic info like names, emails, and phone numbers are now out in the wild.

The Hacker's Warning to the Media Giant

According to the hacker, Condé Nast ignored multiple warnings about vulnerabilities. "It took us an entire month to convince them to fix the vulnerabilities on their websites," Lovely stated, accusing the company of neglecting user data security. Interestingly, Ars Technica remained untouched by this breach because it operates on its own separate, bespoke tech stack, unlike its sister publications.
