The news broke via a joint social media post on January 2, 2026, shared by Mochrie's tour partner Asad Mecci and the official HYPROV account. Mecci stated that while the medical team is optimistic about a full recovery, the comedian needs immediate time to rest and heal.

As a result, several dates on the nationwide HYPROV tour have been postponed. Performances originally scheduled for early January at the Fallsview Casino in Canada, as well as upcoming stops in Washington and Oregon, are being rescheduled. All tickets will be honored for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend.
