CES 2026: Dell's New Alienware Laptops Take Aim at MacBook Pro's Thin Profile

Alienware is shedding its reputation for being hefty and overpriced. At CES 2026 on Monday, Dell teased a radical shift in its gaming lineup: a new ultra-slim laptop that’s nearly as thin as a MacBook Pro, alongside its most affordable model to date.

CES 2026 Alienware Ultra-slim: Cutting the Bulk by 50%

The star of the preview is a forthcoming ultra-slim Alienware model that will come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. According to Dell’s PC gaming lead, Matt McGowan, the 16-inch version measures just 0.67 inches thick. That’s a staggering 50% reduction in volume compared to the current Area-51 flagship, effectively matching the profile of last year's 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro.

While mobility is the priority, Dell promises "serious gaming capability." The machines will feature Nvidia discrete graphics and new, highly efficient CPUs. Early glimpses suggest a more understated, mature aesthetic with an RGB keyboard and a microSD slot, positioning it as a direct challenger to the popular Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16.

Alienware’s Most Accessible Entry-Level Rig

Dell didn't stop at slimming down; it's also lowering the barrier to entry. A new, mysterious entry-level gaming laptop was revealed, described as having the brand's "most accessible price point yet." Currently, Alienware machines start at $1,100, meaning this new model could finally bring the premium Alienware experience to budget-conscious gamers.
