Green recalled the passing of Luke Perry in March 2019 as a particularly heavy blow. Perry, who died from a stroke at 52, had just had lunch with Green a week prior. The sudden transition from a casual meal to a hospital visit and a final goodbye within two days left Green feeling "punked," unable to process the senselessness of the tragedy.

The loss of Shannen Doherty in July 2025 was different but equally painful. Because Doherty had battled Stage Four cancer for a long time, Green lived with a constant awareness that their time was precious. He described her as an "incredible heart" and a fiercely loyal friend, noting that he consciously tried to appreciate every moment they spent together toward the end.
