How the Bosch eBike Anti-Theft Digital Feature Changes the Game

Starting at the end of January, owners can mark their bikes as stolen directly within the Bosch Flow app. Unlike previous iterations, this digital theft feature won't cost you a dime. It's a significant shift from Bosch's previous strategy, where similar battery protection required a paid Flow Plus subscription.

According to a Bosch press release, once a bike is flagged, it becomes identifiable throughout the entire Bosch digital ecosystem. This makes it incredibly difficult for thieves to sell or service the stolen unit, as any authorized dealer will immediately see its status. It's a move that increases the chances of recovery while decreasing the incentive for theft in the first place.

A Connected Shield for Premium Rides

By integrating this feature into the core Flow app experience, Bosch is treating security as a fundamental right for its users. The company noted that this ecosystem-wide identification makes reselling e-bikes difficult, effectively poisoning the well for criminals who target expensive electric motors.
