The teaser footage reveals Steve Rogers living the life he always wanted with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). We see him returning home to her and cradling their newborn child. However, the scene is less heartwarming and more foreboding, setting up a deeply personal stake for his return.

This has fueled speculation that the new primary antagonist, Doctor Doom (played by fellow MCU alum Robert Downey Jr.), will be the one to pull Steve out of retirement. Following a tease in The Fantastic Four: First Steps where Doom was reportedly seen observing Reed Richards' and Sue Storm's baby, a theory is emerging: what if Doom is hunting super-powered children? This would give Rogers a powerful, personal reason to fight again.

The return of Evans and Downey Jr. is just the start.
