A Painful Announcement on Instagram

On the 23rd, Ayane posted a long message on her Instagram account, writing, “The second child who came to us has gone to heaven.” She described a vivid dream she had where a mouse jumped out of a banana and was thrown out a window. “That day was the day we went for the second ultrasound,” she wrote, “but in the end, we never heard the baby’s heartbeat and had to say goodbye to the child.”

A Lesson in a Time of Grief

Ayane explained that the dream felt like a message. “That mouse was our second child, and it felt like it was telling us, who were only focused on Ruhee and neglecting the second child.” She confessed that the experience made her and her husband realize they had begun to take their first daughter’s growth for granted amidst their busy schedules. “This child reminded us once again of the miracle of life,” she reflected.

Lee Ji Hoon married Ayane, who is 14 years his junior, in 2021. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Ruhee, in July 2024 after undergoing IVF treatment. Their second pregnancy was also achieved through IVF.

Looking Forward with Love

Ayane stated she never wanted to seek sympathy by sharing the hardships of IVF, but decided to post this story as the only memory she has of this child. She concluded her message by saying, “I will take some time to rest my body and mind and slowly prepare again. Until then, I will love Ruhee with all my heart every single day.”
