Siff passed away on December 18 in Los Angeles due to complications from surgery for a “long, painful illness,” her family confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter and Forbes.

In a statement, her family celebrated her legacy: “Those who worked with Helen knew her not just as a talented performer, but as someone who brought professionalism, dedication and genuine kindness to every set. A Career Spanning 50+ Years

With a career spanning over five decades and more than 70 film and television credits, Siff had a unique talent for making small parts unforgettable. She landed her first role in 1981 on the drama series 'Lou Grant' and went on to appear in numerous hit shows throughout the '80s and '90s, including 'Cagney & Lacy,' 'L.A. Law,' and 'Married… With Children.'

Her extensive TV work also included guest spots on 'Will & Grace,' 'My Name Is Earl,' 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' and a notable appearance on 'Modern Family.' On the big screen, she was featured in films like the Coen Brothers' 'Hail, Caesar!' and 'You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.' Her final role was in the 2023 Apple TV+ series 'High Desert.'

Siff's daughter, Victoria, paid tribute on Instagram, calling her a "dynamic, charismatic, one-of-a-kind mom." She added, "She loved her craft deeply, but her greatest role was being a mother and grandmother … You’ve taken your final bow, mommy …. I will love you forever."
