'Heathers' Star Lisanne Falk on Her Controversial Foreigner Album Cover at 14: “I Did Not Understand the Context”

Actor Lisanne Falk, known for her role in the 1988 classic 'Heathers,' recently appeared on her former costar Patrick Labyorteaux's podcast to discuss her appearance on the cover of Foreigner's 1979 album, 'Head Games.' The cover is a regular on lists of the "most shocking album covers" of all time.

“Not Super Savvy” at 14

Falk explained that she was just 14 years old and working for the Ford Modeling Agency when she got the gig. “Perspective, from a different time,” she said on the podcast. At the time, she was “not super savvy.” Falk recalled the set was filled with men who thought it was “hilarious” that she was in a men's bathroom. She noted she'd likely never seen a urinal before and “did not understand the context of what she was doing.”

After the shoot, she brought a Polaroid home to her mother, who responded with a hesitant, “uhhhh, okay...” For Falk, “It was a job.” Looking back, she concluded, “I don’t think that would wash in today's day.”

The Legacy of a Platinum Album

Despite the controversial cover, 'Head Games' became a massive success, certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA. The album features classic rock radio staples like “Dirty White Boy” and the title track. Foreigner, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, continues to tour, though with no original members performing in the current lineup.
