Fallout Season 2: All the Game Easter Eggs You Missed, From New Vegas to Vault 24

Think you spotted every game reference in Fallout's second season? Prime Video's return to the Wasteland is packed with Easter eggs, from the neon-drenched promise of New Vegas to lore that was once cut from the Bethesda games themselves.

Destination: New Vegas and Forgotten Vaults

While Season 1 traversed the wider Wasteland, Season 2 has a clear destination in its sights: New Vegas. Though Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) haven't reached the city yet, its presence looms large. The season kicks off in a location straight out of Fallout: New Vegas: the Great Khan raider hideout, faithfully recreated as the Dino Dee-lite Motel, complete with its giant T-rex.

The show also delves deeper underground. Alongside the familiar Vaults 31, 32, and 33, the series introduces Vault 24—a Vault that was actually cut from the Fallout: New Vegas game. The showrunners use this blank slate to introduce their own lore, filling it with brainwashed inhabitants and the game's dreaded radscorpions. Fans of Fallout 4 will also recognize a brief stop at the iconic Starlight Drive-In.

Gear, Gadgets, and Survival Aids

The series continues to excel in its production design, bringing the game's technology to life. The signature Pip-Boy returns, now used not just for maps and Geiger counters, but also to interface with Vault doors. The Brotherhood of Steel's lumbering T-60 power armor from Fallout 4 is back in all its glory.

Survival relies on the same aid items players know well. We see the use of a grenade launcher from New Vegas, and characters depend on RadAway and stimpaks to endure the harsh environment. To the delight of many fans, the loyal canine companion Dogmeat (aka CX404) is also back for the new season.
